Is the letter "c" really necessary?!
Question: i mean, it either makes the "s" or "k" sound...
just a thought

i totally agree, i am in the process of teaching my 3 and 4 year old the letters and the sounds they make, and it is not an easy task when you consider how confusing our alphabet is.
*like "ph" why can't we just use an "f"?
* and the different sounds our vowels make
*and why does "g" have two sounds, why can't we use a "j" for giraffe?
* and why couldn't we come up with different names for things
i.e.: sea and see or high and hi
* and why are some words spelled with a "ck" wasn't "c" or "k" good enough?
*OH ...and what the heck is up with Xylophone?????
i agree
how would you "c"hat
good question.. i will boy_ott it.

Yes bekause if we didn't have the letter c, our words would look like German.
u got a job?
seriously..
u need to get a job if u dont have one,
or start a hobbie!
do somethin, get out of the house before u crack up!!
hmm i never thought about that before...but it does make sense...good point
yes we can't live without that.
good point big red
I never though about that, but that is true! IDK why the person who made the alphabet created "c." :]
You'd need to replace it with something for the ch sound.
I guess not...
Yes. If anything we should get rid of "x"
it iz 4 cd's. but nothing else really
The alphabet wasn't created specifically for the English language.
Yes and also C cup bra size would just be referring to K cup or S cup which wouldn't make sense because D cup, E ( DD cup), F( DDD cup ), G cup, H cup and I cup is larger than C cup.
Also a C in report cards would be referred to as K or S which doesn't make sense because a D and F is worse than a C.
But how -C-ould we talk?
And you just used it too in necessary.........
I kind of need it for my name - and I don't know how appetizing potato hips would be
