I actually did do that once, to try to get a new start with my wife, away from my family and hers, some of whom seemed to be meddling in our affairs. As it turned out though, it wasn't our families' interaction with my wife, so much as my wife's interaction with our families, if that makes sense. I always tried to be rational with her, but it's difficult to be rational with an irrational person.
