Question: i don't think i would piece them, they would tear it out.
they already have methods of tattooing female dogs to let you know they have been spayed.

My dog has a tattoo on the inside of her ear because she's a purebred and it was required. But other than that, NO. And I would never, ever pierce an animal... that's horrible.
My dog has a microchip, but that's not exactly a piercing.
