It is known that taking in less caffeine does help some women feel better about cramps. So I guess, drinking coffee when you usually do not, would do the opposite and makes you feel worse about cramps. Just logical thinking.

I cannot talk from experience because I just have a cup of coffee a day, never more (and I don't drink any other drinks containing caffeine).

If you're having more cramps, you could try doing some light exercise, applying some heat, taking a long, hot bath, giving yourself a gentle massage, eating less salt, drinking more water and getting enough sleep.

One of those things should work, short of taking a pain killer.

I personally have cramps when I do not bleed much, which means that when the blood is thick and slow, it hurts. If I take some vitamin E and some aspirin, which are blood thinner, the blood get fluid and I have no cramps.
Maybe you could try that, it works for me.

caffeine can make cramps worse! drink more water.

caffeine can cause more cramps...
you should avoid caffeine during this time of the month.

Caffeine makes your blood thin and you bleed more

"Women's Health"

Try there.

its the caffeine, it will help with the bloating but cause cramps to worsen

Caffine first dialates then constircts blood vessels so, yes it can cause excess cramping.

It's best to avoid caffine during that time. Lots of water and exercise are the best natural ways to get rid of cramps.

since coffee is a diuretic, it can cause stomach cramps. if the cramps get still happen after you stop drinking coffee than you should see a doctor.

Caffeine makes cramping worse. For this reason I try to avoid chocolate, but it's hard.

i dont think its the caffine, it might be just the coffee, but i dont think so only once in a lot of periods i have cramps... take tylenole or advil every 5hrs and u wont feel the cramps

Generally, you shouldn't really eat/drink anything which contains high levels of caffeine because it can cause irritability. Try not drinking coffee tomorrow and see how you feel.

the caffein take sum painkillers dats wat i do

Cafeine doesn't do that, try Naprogesic's from the chemist take as soon as the pains/cramps begin, it not only stops the cramping but can also help with the flow of your periods if taken for the first couple of days, it makes the flow less and more comfortable.

each period is going to be different regardless but caffeine could effect it put a heating pad on it

okay caffine makes my cramps way worse...

Yes, caffeine contributes to the cramps. I went to the doctor because I was getting very painful cramps and she asked me how much caffeine I was drinking. Now that I've cut down I'm much better off :]. It's annoying because all my favourite drinks have caffeine in them but I guess it's better than feeling sick!

Clear fluids hun... they'll pass.

yup..caffeine can make cramps worst...
