st. patricks day is a holy holiday and it's not just for getting drunk people just do. it is really important to me and it celebrates the saint patrick. so yo ushould learn things before you start asuming things.

this isnt just for the irish this is for everyone to get to know what it feel like to be irish even if its just for one day and think about it dude how cool r the irish we dont care what others think of us we drink beer for breakfast and fight over anything, we dont talk much ****, and if we say we r gonna do it damn it we r gonna do it.. and shouldnt all people feel that way a least once a year

Right, getting drunk is not about nationality or a holiday. It's just a lazy man's way of enjoying himself. I say, get high on life. But yes, the Irish need this day to feel proud and to make up for all the hurt they've suffered throughout history. I would be prouder if they were sober but it's great to see them happy.
Because its apart of there religion and culture St. Patricks Day is to celebrate the beginning of their country to honor the patron that helped there country. So its basically like any other American holiday like Christmas or Martin Luther King, Fourth of July and even New Years.
