Anyone that has had surgery?!

Question: Do you even rememeber the day of surgery? I have had 4 now-and people that are with me find it hard to believe that I just remember bits and pieces.
How about you?

I've had one. I just remember the sore throat from the tube being in there and feeling like I needed to throw up after I woke up. And I remember wanting to get the hell out of there so badly lol. That's about it though.

Never had surgery.

not me

Yep, I remember. I remember all. :)

never needed surgery

I've had 2 surgeries and I can remember everything that happened both days.

I had a c section...all I remember is hearing my baby cry then waking up 4 hours later.

I only had minor surgery and they put me under. I didn't remember a thing but I was back to normal within a few hours.

Yes, I have, and I only remember bits and pieces, too. I never remember every single detail to anything...

i remember everything that happend. i was really nervous, maybe thats why.

suck my wrinkled tit!

i had one about 2 years ago

I remember pretty much everything, except for being in surgery, since I was asleep for it.

I remember everything....

And my leg is fixed too :D
Yay for soccer injuries

i got put to sleep when i had a bunch of teeth pulled and i don't remember any of it! i kind of remember walking into the place, but that's it. i don't remember going home or anything!

Never had it

The only real surgery I've had is having my wisdom teeth pulled...they gave me an anesthetic, so I don't remember any of the surgery, but the pain was still there afterwards, unfortunately : ( lol

i was 3 when i had my tonsisl's out and i remember bits of that. don't remember the whole experience, i was too young.

hey yup ive had 4 aswel.....i can remember everything perfectly, all the bits and pieces and especially the dates, because i have to wait a certain amount of time before i can do certain things..

I remember the events leading up to the visit from the anesthesiologist. Everything after that was a blur..

Yeah, I remember everything from before the surgery and I vaguely remember waking up (For a couple of minutes) in the recovery room, a nurse behind the desk smiliing at me, and another nurse talking REALLY loudly to a patient telling him they were gong to take the throat tube out, this was a while before they moved me to my room (I think??)....Was kind of surreal....Then a vague memory of a Garfield head ballon floating at the end of my bed....Don't remember anythng else until the next day

I remember some of it.

I had an auto crash and broke my left leg badly.

Since there was so much pain involved, I wasn't focusing on what was going on too closely around me.
That's why I don't remember too much about that day...

I'm going into surgery on May 21st, but it's my first...

It is very common to only remember bits and pieces after having undergone general anesthesia. I have very minimal memory of the first 24 hours after all 7 surgeries.

yes i have...i dont remember much at all i remember getting the ivs and leaving the hospital thats about it~

I had surgery when i was about 10 or 11. i remember just about everything up too the surgery. I don't remember anything for like 2 days after the surgery.

I was so nervous before the surgery, that my brain was working overtime. Afterwards i was so sedated that it didn't matter.

i have had 2 minor ones and i remember the surgery just not the day. but it was 5 stiches on my hand and 11 around my toe (it almost fell off >_<)

I have had surgery many times.

When I was 11 I broke both legs. Pre surgery I being asked to count backward from 100 and I got to 94 and I distinctly remember waking in the recovery room saying 93,92...

I suppose I remember that as it was so dramatic for me.

I don't remember seeing family and friends post surgery the day of the surgery. But I do remember most visits in the days to follow.

When I was 16 I had steel staples inserted in my ankle and that day was just a blurr.. I guess it depends on the type of drugs you get and what type you get after surgery.

I had surgery 5 years ago out patient and remember everything. Which to me meant less drugs.
