Have you ever been to a party? Did they use paper plates? Yes! They did, and that would be because paper plates are suitable for a party. And before you ask, so are plastic utensils.

only if you're serving light foods,, anything that needs to be cut on a paper plate is damn near impossible!!

Yep again i wouldn't use anything else cause you don't want all your best crockery to get smashed, plus it saves on the washing up.

Yes don't want to break my good china and certainly prefer throwing away paper plates rather than cleaning a sink/dishwasher filled with dishes. All for easy way out!
I`d say it depends on how heavy the food you`re serving is. Who wants a plate full of BBQ to spill on their lap?
