Ha! That's funny, In Australia, a root is considered sex, and all that showed up on your question on the previous page was "have you ever had a root" and I was like "well that's a bit or a funny question. Yeah roots from my gumtree got into the pipes in the back yard of a house I was renting once. Fu'cked some sh'it up to. They had to put little tiny waterproof cameras to see where the roots where getting in, the dig up and remove that section of piping, and then lay another length of pipe, and join it up at both ends. It was not a cheap process from what I heard.

yes...I also have a nice neighbor who JUST TODAY told me that if you put rick salt (the kind to melt snow) in your drains twice a year (fall/spring) it will kill the roots but not harm the trees. I do not know from experience but I trust him...maybe it will work?
no but i had a tree root mess up the drive-way cost us a fortune to sort out......
not the back yard...the front yard going on three years ago and my grass still hasnt healed all the way from being dug up!
