run out and grab a pair, grocery stores and drug stores will have some :P or just use a marker, color your ankles and hope you dont walk through a puddle

I guess "Yuppy" is "higher class" (more acceptable in "dressy" society) but there's some practical things to be said about wearing socks.
Whichever you choose (if this is an actual question), I hope you have some pants with extra long legs.
You could stop by Wal-mart and get a cheap pair in about five minutes, if you've got that much time to spare.
