Or- just start spelling his name like that and refer to the fact (should he try to correct you) that you thought he'd changed his name and even sent out a memo about it. LOL.

depending on the boss anywhere from difficult to ridiculously impossible. Perhaps pointing it out to somone else would make up for not telling him, as it would most likely get back to him eventually.
