They won't let you just stick to one thing unless you are bringing in more money but most clubs will require that all dancers have to go on stage and use the pole.

It depends on the club you work in. I've only been in three clubs and only 1 had a pole. Basically they just walked on the bar and stopped in front of certain people and if they paid they hung out for a while. VIP is lap dances which in some places are watched and in others you can receive oral sex.
