Car. My area of the country is not condusive to other means of transport. We do not even have taxi cabs in my hometown.

A monorail

One that has a single rail that doubles as an outside light source and runs through the carriages to light them from the inside (oh alright then, I fibbed, but it is a nice thought isn't it?)
