i think if you know what he likes maybe plan something fun and exciting you know you both will have a good time doing but if you dont know much about him mention that you are interested in hanging out sometime and see if he has any ideas
Maybe a little of both....offer/accept suggestions. That way you'll also get a clue whether you have things in common.

It's not a good idea to date a guy from work. If things don't work out, you've got to look at this guy 5 days a week still.
Have a plan but be flexible.
Better ask yourself, if this doesn't work out how awkward will it be for him and I at work? Many work relationships don't work and it leads to someone leaving.
If you know what types of things he likes to do just plan something and throw in a bit of stuff you think is fun to. Personally I would not date a co-worker because it just causes too much drama at work, but you know what's best for you so go for it and have fun=:>)
well, im a guy so i usually ask out. but if your a girl wow... that would be different...

thats how i find out if a girl wants to ask me out. she usually says something along those lines.
