Why do some countries think that killing someone, is the correct punishment for !

Question: to show them that killing someone is wrong?

Answers: to show them that killing someone is wrong?

wow. good question but then again ask yourself what would you do if justice let some serial killer just have life in prison, and one day just by his good behavior het gets out with paroll or one day he gets out of jail he goes out to kill again. it isnt right, i see it wrong that some idiot killer have to live life while not receiving the same punishment.

YES and its wrong!

you reap what you sow... ... havent you ever heard that karma is a b*tch

an eye for an eye a tooth for a tooth.

The person is dead while the other is in jail living with food water tv and being able to do things.

An eye for an eye.

Some people believe in the saying 'an eye for an eye', 'what you give is what you get' etc.
Also this may be because they are proving a point.
Hope this helps!

It is supposed to be a deterrent! That way if someone -thinks- about KILLING someone the death penalty is supposed to be a deterrent.
NOT really effective, however!

:((

I didnt quite understand.

"Let the punishment fit the crime"
"Those who live by the sword shall die by the sword"
I think the method they used to murder their victim should be how they die as well, once convicted. If someone died slowly, suffering rape and severe pain...guess who isn't going to meet his maker with a simple injection?
I also believe pedophiles and rapists should be put to death.

Edit: Life meant life before they went to prison. They had the opportunity to earn their keep on the outside, but they passed on that priveledge. Killers kill inside the prisons too.

~*~ The above is my official opinion to this poll/survey, and should not be misconstrued as chatting or any other violation of YA's terms of service~*~

well the countries believe life for a life if you've murdered it is only right then you are killed it reassures the public of that country that you can not attack again and shows others that it is wrong to murder or kill

because they're right.

They may be following the old theological view of "an eye for an eye" in its most literal sense. Judging whether it is appropriate or not is tainted by our belief that our system is better. If our system is superior, why are politicians so corrupt?
In countries where barbaric justice is enforced, the crime rate has been proven lower than that of the USA...
If a person steals something with the right hand, and justice is served by lopping off the offensive hand, it is understandable that the same individual may think twice before committing a crime again. Although I wonder what happens to the elderly handicapped exfelons.
