Dogs, they are loyal, understanding. Dogs would do anything for you.
Cats are arrogant, mean. One image that sticks out in my mind is the time I looked through a window and saw a cat laying on it's back yawning while a bird with a broken wing was dancing around in pain a foot from it's mouth. The cat would get up and hit it then go back to laying down. It would take just enjoy making it suffer. I went out and got the bird and helped it back to life and it recovered. Cats seem to take enjoyment in making other life suffer.

Have had them all and loved them all. Funny, goofy, irritating..and interesting.
Have two dumb dogs right now..intelligent..but dumb.

Dogs everytime
Cats hands down. I say this for a lot of reason. Primarily because cats are low maintaince when comparing to dogs. I think dogs require a lot of attention and time. Cats will take care of themselves just feed them and clean up after them. They will come to you when they want attention.
