Oh yeah .... Heavy rain & strong winds already in Devon ...... And that's straight from the Met Office smokers shelter, where I have just been.
Looking at the radar the front edge of light rain is just about to reach Manchester, with the heavy stuff not far behind
I just hope it doesn't interrupt trains as I have a journey to Hartlepool 2 hours after I finish my night shift.
EDIT: Update - Someone who stayed on for a few hours after his shift, to help out because of the weather, just phoned in.
It took him 90 minutes, on empty roads, to drive what he can normally do, in normal traffic, in 30.
Horizontal rain, cross winds, head winds, flooded roads.
