R&S and Politics thread surfers- do you answer questions to the best of your abi!

Question: Seems to me about 70-80% of the people who answer questions on those two threads answer with rote memorized and learned responses- with no attempt at thionking outside the box. Or... they answer with some snide rude or even cruel remark that is intended to demonstrate their assumed superiority in the world. I have had LOTS of questions and answers deleted over the past months (and one crusader surfed my avatar and got four of my answers deleted in about 15 minutes - including three that were historically researched accurate answers!).
SO... R&S'ers and Politicos - are you interested in expanding your minds and accepting that there may be other ways of thinking about things that you haven't tried - or is this just your way of promoting canned pavlovian responses in order to reassure yourselves that you can hide from the outside world and snipe at others who offend your assumed position in life?
Are you answering these questions for yourself, or to engage in intellectual dialog ?

Well, I have to admit that sometimes I get a little opinionated and sarcastic with some of my answers but I usually save that for those askers who deserve it. Most questions I do answer to the best of my abilities and try to be helpful. It's very irritating when you have those who are so narrow minded and/or unintelligent that they won't even let the others speak their mind and share their thoughts or ideas. I'm always willing to listen to someone elses view of things in hopes of learning something new or just being able to make my own informed intelligent decision. I don't know why it's so hard for some to allow others this freedom. Many are just scared of what they can't understand and feel threatened.....especially by intelligent people. You have very good questions and answers in which they don't know how to respong or argue back so they choose to just have you deleted....I guess it's the price you have to pay for reading, learning, listening, and having having informed thoughts.

Um...well.... like.. cool bananas baby...umm

wow what a question. I answer to try and communicate and learn more. I love to read a lot of the questions and answers and see if I have a good opinion and answer to help the people asking. I do like the fact that you ask in such a talented intelligent manner. for that I applaud you.

For people that ask serious questions, I do my utmost to answer them to the best of my abilities. I do my best to only give sarcastic answers to sarcastic questions, and I never insult anybody - at least I don't think I have ever insulted anybody. If I have, it was unintentional.

Finding good thoughtful questions in R&S has been a little more difficult this past week or so, but I do my best. I first went to R&S to learn something new, and maybe help out some people who needed it. I try not to answer questions that I cannot give a good answer too. Stuff that is out of my league - I leave those alone.

Don't worry - there are some of us out here!

interesting post. i see a lot of deliberately provocative questions posted that are clearly trying to anger people.
when someone who is obviously a conservative asks a ridiculous question about the democrats i try to give a reasonable answer, but sometimes i do find myself making similar points over and over.
i support obama for president, but i have often raised questions about whether he can win in the general election and whether his supporters shouldn't be more concerned with the high number of republican voters crossing over and voting for him in the primaries and if they really think these same people will vote for him if he gets the nomination.
i've stopped posting questions myself because i don't see much point in doing that here.
people tend to pick a candidate and then ignore any facts that get in the way of their choice.
and why people would waste any time posting questions about a candidate they do not support when they could be making the case for the one they do support is beyond me.
p.s. most of my "polls and surveys" answers are just for laughs, in "movies" i try to be informative. and i've never done any of what people call "trolling" in regards to reporting and such. and even though i dislike hillary clinton, i have on some occasions defended her, as when i've seen anti-hillary posts alleging ridiculous things like she and bill being guilty of murder and especially whenever i've seen people try to bring up whitewater when it's obvious that they don't even know that the clintons LOST money on that deal and were essentially cleared by starr in that regard.

If the question is a thought out intelligent question, the I answer in like. However if the question is a stupid snide question. Guess how I answer. I do not however, make it my personal mission to mess with users that do not agree with my questions, answers or views. Unlike SOME users on here.

Hey, I think I'm really outside your "normal" box. So I don't have to really try hard to give my best advice to others.
Anyone who has read my responses will notice I'm way out there and I admit some are sarcastic. ...we all have our moments. ;-)

Tho, all my responses are with best of intentions, wanting others to look outside their box and find a solution they have not found within.
