A screen name like that shows poor judgment or immaturity, but older, wiser people should understand that it also shows despair. Kicking someone when she is down is probably not the best way to illustrate disagreements with a person's ideas and/or feelings.
I normally do not pay a lot of attention to the name people chose to be called. I do not offend easily, and in this particular case, I know some of the reasoning behind it. I think we have seen the last of that name, and by any other name she is still the same sweet girl she has always been. The bard said it best when he asked the question, "What's in a name?" and "A rose by any other name smells as sweet". I think I will not judge harshly a name that may have been come by innocently enough, and then modified to show a sign to another, misguided though it may have been. As for making new friends, it might be a bit difficult with that name, but for keeping them, it doesn't matter to me, and probably shouldn't to anyone else. Keep the faith, and we will get through this and all will be stronger as a result.

I can see why some may be offended or feign offense. I however will try to discover the meaning or reason for such a name change. By being a friend not a critic.

Besides names, that I hardly register, what I DO notice is some rather 'show-everything-but' avatars....did that sentence make sense?

I was a bit shocked when I saw that....I guess she was just having a bad day. I did not take personal offense, but I do think she may attract the "wrong" kind of friends with this title.
