Broken. I had this same thing happen in an antique store. I was reaching for something else and a statue broke. It didn't have a price on it. I took a moment about whether I was going to tell anyone I broke it and then took it to the counter. I did. It turned out to cost $50. I paid for it and she put it in a bag for me. I pieced it together because it wasn't broken in but two places. It is a beautiful piece and I actually got it for a steal.
I'm glad it was broken. I did the right thing and I got a rare piece at a steal. It is still broken but I can at least enjoy it and know I did the right thing!!!
