My watch. It reminds me that time passes, a new morning will come in some hours and the sun will shine again.
It is not the watch I wear on my wrist!!! :)
Any lightbulb one can keep lit during the dark hours.
That assumes the sun is still there. It maybe night fall or a solar eclipse. Perhaps there is not Sun.
The answer is the knowledge that the sun exists but that is all based on things we have been told to date.
People could have lied to us.
I just take it on faith.
