No, I got roped into doing our family reunion because my sister did just that, the weasel thingy.
Yes! One time I RSVP'd that I would go to a wedding. It was for a co-worker with whom I was not so close. But the rest of our dept was going so I felt obligated to go. My husband and I were just 2 blocks away and I said "Let's not go! Let's take the gift money and go to a nice restaurant for dinner instead!" He was surprised because I am SOOOOOOOOO not like that! But he obliged and we found a really nice place to eat dinner and had a great night!
I felt guilty at first, but the couple wound up getting a divorce after 5 months so I was really happy in the end that I didn't go.
I have - for shame!!!
