I think the hotcakes and pancakes are the same... like diapers/pampers, zerox/copy, tissue/kleenex...

There is no difference between hotcakes & pancakes.In United States,it is also call griddlecakes & Canada is another name for pancakes as is hotcakes & flapjacks.In England & Scotland pancakes are called drop scones.
