Did one of your parents/caregivers ever seriously say "stop crying or I'!

Question: One of mine did. He'll remain anonymous, but I sorta skip Father's Day now.

Answers: One of mine did. He'll remain anonymous, but I sorta skip Father's Day now.

I think that line is in the DAD handbook isn't it?

My mother said that all the time. I hate that saying. I will never say it to my kids.

Both of my parents, and grandparents. All the time when I was a kid. They still do it.

Well....mine reacted differently.
I skip Mother's Day and have call display.

Hmmm...yes. Mommy dearest.

Both of my parents used to say it to me, all the time. I was a real whiny kid.

Yep, same one who threw me into a wall. Needless to say I also avoid that person.... Not that they have the guts to do that now that I'm an equal. Easy to pick on a kid...

yes~

i said it to my daughter before...it wasn't serious. along the same lines is "i brought you into this world and i can take you out, too"

oh yeah. and when i hurt my arm roller skating i had to cry in bed for hours before she'd take me to the hospital. and she said, "it better be broken or i'm gonna break it". turned out to be sprained. that was good enough for her thank God!

lol i think i said that to some1.....

i don't think some i did...but i don't remeber. that's proabbly what i would say to my kids if they were crying for no reason...but i wouldn't say it like that..i would say "ur being weak. don't let ppl see it"

i have that hard spartan thing going on lol

IT'S SO MEAN...BILL, you are funny, man.

Oh, one day, I stuck my tongue out at my mom as she was driving by in my sisters car. She had told me i could go to the neighbors house but I was not to ride my bike in the road as the neighbor kids did regularly. Well, I did it anyway and she passed by and I wanted to apear cool and defiant so I stuck my tongue out at her. She walked over to get me ( there were acres between us) and had a switch. She switched me all the way home and I was screamin' bloody murder and she was tellin' me to stop cryin' but I couldn't stop because she was switchin me and it hurt like hades. I was cryin' and gaspin' and the more I cried the more she would tell me to stop and the more I couldn't. It was a very unpleasant experiance. But you know what? I never stuck my tongue out at her again! Maybe this is different than "stop crying or I'll give you a reason, more like stop cryin' even though i'm givin' you a reason." I think it's worse!

nay

My mom. She was frequently angry but when I got older I understood her better
