Question: It's actually Barbecue becuase the early pirates used to cook like the natives on a grid made of bamboo called a boucan, hence they were called buccaneers (boucaneers) and boucaneers was bastardised to boucecusiner, bouboucan, babecure, then barbecue. The que is because of the "KEW" sound, but words don't need a "q" to rhyme with it
