I don't get how this was a violation. Can anyone answer this?!

Question: This is a question. I asked if I should try to answer all questions a particular night with a serious answer (I usually just have fun). Isn't that a question in search of answers? This is a question. I've read quidelines several times. Confused and don't dare ask anymore.

Someone reported you. Maybe more than one person. I don't think that is fair. Your question was not offensive. I would take it up with YA.

To answer your question (a little late), Yes! You should take a day to give serious answers. It is a must do kind of thingy.

Edit: I still don't see how that question would be chatting. You are not specifying a certain person or persons. I would fight it for the principle. If you win, the "reporters" will loose influence in the reporting community for making a bogus report.

yahoo issues

yahoo is becoming rediculous..

someone reported your Q*

Maybe it was mis-categorized?

It is really difficult to give you a decent answer without seeing the actual answer and not a paraphrase......

You got reported by a troll. It sucks.

that's yahoo for ya, who are we to question the superiority of the yahoo intelligence, we are to obey not to ask!!

Maybe if you would have asked "Have you ever tried to answer seriously for a whole night straight" - then put - "should try?"

You don't dare ask anymore...yet here you are asking. Yeah I'm confused now too.

I had an answer deleted when someone asked about big hair bands that weren't ugly. I said something along the lines of I don't know who's uglier the emo crowd or the big hair crowd and I got a minus 10er. Oh well, I'm still in the thousands baby!

I answered a question with some factual info., and Yahoo pulled my answer, because it "didn't answer the question".

Some people are report-happy. Maybe it was reported as "chatting"?

Huh? Whoever reported you for that had WAY TOO much time on their hands. maybe that's someone else's way of having fun?

Sounds like there are alot of bogus reporters are out there and yahoo has a tendency to take their word. Don't feel bad. I have had ridiculous violations as well for what they said was chatting, when I simply asked if anyone else was having a bad sinus headache like I was having.

I understand if 2 people report it, it's gone. You can appeal, but good luck with that!

yeah, yahoo answers has gotten increasingly mentally challenged. don't worry about it...it's just trolls.

I got a violation last week, and I barely have been on since.

If Yahoo is trying to lower its sale price more, they are succeeding.

Faithful yahoo user since 99, just wishing they could jump on board.

I honestly don't see anything wrong with that. Appeal the violation.

that does not make any sense, that happened to me last week....so stupid

WHAT THE HELL?! I answered that! I thought it was a great question. You should appeal that one!

I agree the powers that be are getting out of hand.I have been violated 2 times for asking peoples opinions and was told I was chatting because of the way I worded my questions.I think they need to start understanding and realize what a real question is.

It may have been construed as point gaming, but that's a mere guess

I don't see how it was a violation. They trip about the silliest things on here.

some idiotic yahoo freak who probably has OCD reported your question because they have too much time on their hands.
