The store sells panties, bras and cosmetics......Society has reinvented those things and made them sexy. Victoria Secret just hopped on the band wagon.
So if they are "too sexy" should they just not wear anything?

If Victoria Secret's CEO made a statement like that, I would say he/she has no concept of his product or his customers. In regard to your second question: I think it would be doubtful that Victoria Secret would "bring back" anything. Their business depends upon developing new styles and fashions, thereby making it imperative that the customer keeps buying to be current. Bringing back a previous design is counterproductive.

I think overall they used to have a better balance of pretty, sexy, and cute. They have whored out a bit, and I'd like to see more of the great jammies, slippers, and velour warm-up suits. I had beige, pink and black. Their lingerie is still super pretty.
when they start making their lotions edible then we'll talk , but if that SOB does anything to affect my favorite bra... he will die .
i don't care, as long as they keep making ipex bras and bikini panties i'm happy. a lot of their other stuff has gone fron sexy looking to cheap in my opinion.....

This is not at all surprising. You see, this is the effect of the Baby-Boomers again. We are all becoming older and older. There are so many of us that we wield more weight than any other generation. When we were younger, most every product was aimed at us. Now, advertisers would normally be aiming at a younger generation. But the numbers are not there. So, they are still aiming most of their advertising budgets at us.
As women get older, they tend to stop buying thongs at Victoria's Secret and start buying sensible underwear in department stores. Victoria's Secret is seeking to hold on to those older customers by including less sexual oriented underwear that better meets older women's needs.
They will still offer sexy underwear, but not ONLY sexy underwear. It makes good business sense. You will see more and more businesses making this adjustment.
It is the same reason that the Social Security Program is in serious trouble. Too many Baby-Boomers retiring and not enough younger people working to pay for us. Of course, business responds far quicker than any government bureaucracy.

It's not really that sexy. The CEO saying that might make people look and that's what the company wants. Their Marketing Dept. says, "What words do we have to say in order to make them buy our product(s)." The CEO is very clever.
