My neighbor left a note telling me to stop feeding the birds.?!

Question: We share a deck with a partion between us. She said she does not like birds. I have been feeding them all winter with no problem till she moved in a few weeks ago. All I have is a suet feeder and a sunflower feeder. I don't want any problems but I don't want to stop feeding them either. Anyone with a suggestion?

Compromise. Keep feeding the birds, but do it in the back of the yard not so close to the deck. She could have had a bad bird experience lol and you don't need future run-ins on even more stupid stuff. This way everybody wins and you didn't cave.

She is NOT your boss....keep feeding the birds and stand up for your rights! Ignore..she is just wanting to start territorial issues....DO NOT ALLOW THIS TO START she does not own it all out there.!!``
If you let her boss you around now she will always be telling you what you can and cannot do. Get permission from landlord.

i dont think you should have to stop feeding them, maybe you should talk to your landlord before she does if you have one. are have her over try to make friends and then let her know how much you enjoy feeding the birds

I'd tell her if she really has a problem with me feeding the birds then she should start looking for another place.
I DO have a very similar problem with new neighbors who recently purchased the house next to me. I have four dogs and they have filed several complaints with the town dog officer about them barking. I HAD my dogs before they move in. They can MOVE OUT.

Only feed them on your side of the deck!

No, just kidding. I think you're going to have to talk to her about it. Apparently you guys are going to have some issues if you don't, and I don't think you want to start off that way with your neighbor (especially since you share a deck with them).

Kindly remind her that you "share" the space and that you are sharing with nature too.
You could have a quite word to the birds and mention she doesn't like them being fed, they might decide to peck her eyes out!

I would say you have squatting rights because you were there first. If there is nothing about feeding birds in your lease, tell her to get bent.

I would talk to her (rather then just being rude and leaving a note like she did) and tell her exactly what you said here......
"I have been feeding them all winter with no problem till she moved in............"

yeah tell her you will clean up the mess that the birds leave

Keep feeding the birds the hell with her, people like that really annoy me, they think they own the neighborhood. I also feed the birds off my deck every morning.
