The earthquake in UK?!
Question: Did anyone here in the UK feel the earthquake in the early hours of this morning? i was sat here around 1am and my whole room shook, my TV was rattling and i could feel the floor move under me...i'm in Liverpool and it felt really powerful, scared the life out of me..did anyone else feel it last night? they say it reached a 5.2...who else in UK was awake when this happened?

I grabbed the first thing I could (a teaspoon) and ran downstairs in my boxer shorts thinking an intruder had broke his way into my house !
i'm in Jamaica so i was unable to feel it
me it was the same here in blackpool.
I didn't feel it, but was on here at the time. All these questions started appearing about Earthquakes - was quite cool!!
I was still on my computer answering questions when the tremor struck. All the floorboards in the house creaked badly from front to back. I also felt a kind of vibration whilst sitting on my computer chair and wondered what the hell had happened.
Yes - I'm in Lincolnshire 20 miles from Market Rasen. I thought it was my flatmate next door losing it. lol it was amazing!
It woke me up. First time my bed has shaken in ages lol

Wow it woke me up lol.....my whole bed was shaking and all the stuff on my shelves rattling lol......I nearly crapped in my pants (its a good job i didnt coz i wasnt wearing any lol) Then I went back to sleep lol but not before looking out of the window!!!! lmao....dunno what I expected to see! lol

I was fast asleep. Didn't feel a thing. Then again nothing ever happens like that in Stretham cambridgeshire nr Ely.
Well the earth didn't move for me Tatts - it didn't reach Essex as I am sure I would have noticed it!
am in liverpool too, i was well away in the land of nod, my boss said he felt it, he lives on the docks, gutted i was asleep! x

The quake woke me up and all sorts of silly ideas about supernatural things went through my head before rational thought took over and it occurred to me that we do get earthquakes in this country from time to time so it could have been that - didn't know for sure until I heard it on the radio this morning though!
Hi tatts I was asleep and missed it but my daughter was awake in her bed and she said it felt like somone was under her bed and gave it a good thump. She thought the cat had snuck in but looked and it was not cat she said it was a bit scary as she thought she had been lifted in her bed!!
We are in midlands apparently a 5.2 felt all over the last one we had i felt was 2002 and it was same time the whole house shook and the centre was in Dudley which is a distance form us I thought we had aliens ha ha

Yes I felt it too, I knew as soon as it started what it was as I've experienced an earthquake before, it terrified the life out of me, I woke my hubby up for a cuddle as I couldn't get back to sleep.
Shame it didn't come last year then,Tatty L. and knocked that wall of yours down before it fell down!
I am in Leeds nearer to the epicentre and I didn't feel anything - must be me though - unshakeable because others around here did!

I was in bed watching Will and Grace last night in the UK and i was just falling to sleep when i felt the bed shaking i thought thats odd lol and then i thought oh it's probably just an earthquake lol i was fine and all calm then my step-dad and mum came in saying did you feel it shaking then i was like yeah so? lol
