Can a victim ever...?!

Question: develop a strange solidarity with their own executioner?

Answers: develop a strange solidarity with their own executioner?

Some strange kind of Stockholm syndrome?
I guess it's possible.
I mean, the victim's life is in the executioner's hands. Probably a compassionate person would think that they're just doing their job. I'm sure most of Catholic Saints and martyrs developed it.
Probably a "normal" person can't do it.

yes

yes, I love my wife.

There is much evidence about this, being true.
We have seen this in many cases of hostage, where the victim tried to protect their "executioner", even falling in love with them!!

If the person is a massachist or Christian it is possible to feel a kinship with your executioner in that I ther you like what is happening to you or you like to think that there is some higher purpose to life and death and that you should be forgiving of those who are less aware of right and wrong than are you.
