Would organizing a thumbs benefit be against the rules here in Y!A?!

Question: For those who may not understand what I am getting at. Let us say either a new person or a friend came here for the first time, or even a contact came back after wrongfully being suspended by a troll stalking her or him, and she is currently stuck in level one. If you ask a question and everyone gives her a thumbs up so it maxes out his or her points received, it gives them a quick boost up to level 2 where they can rate people by using their thumbs up and down spots.

Would that be against the rules here in Y!A?

"The above is my official poll/survey and should in no way be misconstrued as chatting."

Kindness? NOT being against the rules here on Y!A? Unheard of.

I love it, what a great idea....let's fight back against "the man"!

Are you nuts.

who cares if its against the rules, who needs points.

I'd love to play, but i have no thumbs, i could however logon to alll of my 35 other deleted accounts and use those.....ok, so only 30 of them made it above level 1, but whatever....

Oh probably.

But when has that ever stopped us?

Edit: Done.

Okay.

since when has following rules been an issue for anyone of us? I'm game!

I believe that would be point gaming....however I love cheating.

I wish it were NOT against Y!A guidelines to inform people (and thus be guilty of "chatting") that IF you answer my questions with ANY effort whatsoever and are not RUDE you WILL receive a TU from me.
Unfortunately I cannot tell you that as it would be, as noted above, chatting.
You wanna see some "TU Crazy people", go visit the lovely folks in Rock & Pop! THOSE nice folks SHOWER one another w/ TU EVEN when they disagree!
(I've got $5 that says I run out of STARS again today, too!)

Sounds like a plan :)

a troll would harass you for it but what you could do is get a chain email going advising all contacts and contacts of contacts etc to do it. no one ever adds a troll as a contact... i'm in!

You're Brilliant!

Oh...most likely...We are not suposed to help out those who y/a has turned their backs on most likely! I'm sure they have some kind of a rule against it!

count me in. star for you. thumb is poised and ready. just say when/who.

but really let's start with stars for you. ok?

On a one time only basis if for some reason a newbie managed to get 50 thumbs up and a best answer it would give them a legitimate 60 point boost in points so long as the guestion and the answer are above reproach and it remains a one time only thing. If it is repeated or explained or stated that this is a thumb party then yahoo would have to suspend everyone involved for point gaming. So the moral of this answer is don't yell fire in a crowded theatre and if some newbie should happen to be rewarded by fifty thumbs that would be something to see. The answer is yes it would be if you say it like that.

Let's get that signing started
:)~

Let's do it anyway! What can we lose?!;)

Who cares about the rules!

sure ill throw a thumbs in for ya

probably, what can we do?

Use guile ;-)

Those community guidelines are so vague that anything and EVERYTHING can be against the rules.
