City Breaks, outside England any ideas, not too far, no more than a 3/4 hour fli!

Barcelona is a great city for a short break, aparently there are loads of pickpockets but we never had a problem when we were there, Las Ramblas is the main street close to the beach and gothic quarter and hotels are fairly cheap. We are going to portugal next week (never been before) so i will let you know what it is like when we get back. Belgium and Italy are also places that you might want to look at. It depends what you want from the holiday.

Dublin is great for a city break, its just about 45 mins from Manchester, lots to see and do, wonderful people, great eating and drinking places and good shops.
Barcelona, if you can get there in that time. Its close enough for the flight to be short.
the european best city break i've ever done was berlin, and i've been on a fair few. it was a pleasant surprise & we have decided we loved it so much, we want to go back. so much history & things to do there.
