i'm somewhere between middle class and po' broke. let's just say i make less than $10,000 a year.

Hmm... Pretty Po' Broke at the moment. Husband gets paid bi-weekly, so money gets sort of tight for the second week.
I'd more or less consider my family to be middle class though. We have a nice apartment, nice things, and can afford extras now and again. Definitely by no means rich, but with only one income (i'm a stay at home mom of a 4 month old) we survive fairly comfortably.
