I save animals from the brink of extinction every day. You do it for the satisfaction and the knowledge that you're doing good, not for rewards like stars and merits.
If you want stars, do something else. Saving lives should be reward enough.

I help people too AND I help animals. I don't get stars. I save stars for really interesting questions.
