Question: Have you ever just done a show as a resume builder? I'm doing a show right now, just to be able to fit it on my resume as a fact as a show I have done. However, I wonder if I'm the only one who does this.

Yes, I've done productions simply because they would be impressive on my resume.
I won't name names, but there are a few major regional theatres that I heard were less than pleasant to work at, but are nonetheless renowned and therefore impressive to other producers. So I pursued work there, and endured the unpleasantness I'd heard about [mostly rude directors and jaded production staffers]. But in the end, they got added to my resume and consequently increased my reputation.
There's a reason why it's called "show BUSINESS" -- as with any industry, you sometimes have to give to get.

I've never done a show just for a resume builder, I do shows just because I love to perform.

ya i have... one genre i was missing was a murder mystery... so i audtioned for a few and got one... there is nothing wrong with wanting to improve yourself
