I like many genres of music but pushed for a favourite, it would have to be the Ragtime music of Scott Joplin.
It is the bridge between classical styling and the excitement of every modern form of music it gave birth to.
Not many outside of academia realise that it was rag music that made Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, The Beatles and The Spice Girls...(kidding about the last one..) possible!
Get some headphones...open a bottle of cabernet sauvignon...and listen to Scott Joplin's original Mexican serenade..'Solace'.

Ok the best type of music/genre in todays world is by far Cruckcore. Don't let the Crunk part scare you away, because I HATE rap and all kinds of rap. I'm a rocker boy, and love punk-rock/alternative, so read on.
Now I'll explain what Crunckcore is. Crunkcore is described in a couple ways:
Crunk- A combination of R&B and Hip-Hop.
i.e. Lil' Jon, Lil' Scrappy, Crime Mob, Ying Tang Twins
Core- Always consist of a type of rock behind it.
i.e. New Found Glory, Good Charlotte, Linking Park, etc.
Now put it together and you get amazingness!!! LoL
You can listen to a mix between Rap and Hip/hop with amazing rock thrown into it. The way today's world is I believe consist of 3 groups, People who like Rap, Rock, and Country. Country being the minority. But Rap and Rock is today's main music genres...so with Crunkcore it makes everything amazing...LoL

my favorit is rock(korn, linkin park, gorrilaz etc) but if the song is good i listen to it no matter what type of song it is.
