Did you ever think about running away to join the circus?!

Question: Actually yes, i did think about joining the circus, and i did do just that but very briefly, five performances and that was it,,,

what i rather would have runaway and joined was the Ballet, or the Rolling Stones,

But back to the circus and the much less glamorous of the fantasies, yes, i was in Idaho i forget what year, and was on a crew to go and break down a circus, a Shriners circus, well the circus was leaving town, and after doing what mundane but laborous tasks, the circus was on its way to Colorado, i asked if i could come along, and there i was,, in the back of a tractor trailer no ventilation and no window with three other bums, the romantic name is roustabout, with a plastic trash can full of ice and beer, we lay on plywood platforms, it was dark we could not stand, nor see where we were going, i remember one stop, in a truck stop somewhere, but God knows where, we arrived in Colorado, it was a sunny day, and began to unload, the Denver Auditorium or convention center, next to a hugh Pepsi plant, i was somewhere in the building when i heard people screaming,,, ran outside not knowing what to expect, there was the remanants of a dying tornado, cyclone, whirling away into the sky, it was the first time i have seen one live, it was a cold, like a winter cold, it was summer time,, two tornados hit Denver that day, causing over a million dollars in damages, this was rare because tornados do not usaully come over that far,it is not considered part of the cyclone belt,,,,, okay, now about the circus, my job was to do anything i was told, set up equiptment, and the acts, i sometimes wheeled the lions and tigers and panthers out to the ring, it was a three ring circus, i don,t remember doing much else, i helped set up the steel ball where the pretty girl stands in the center and her husband drives a motorcycle around her, inside this steel cage, i forget what questions i asked the guy who drove the mc i asked the guy who was the lion tamer , how he got to doing this, training lions and tigers in the circus, he told me it was better than being a San Diego policman smile here, i don,t remember much else, the beer was free, or so i thought, the hours were long and tedios and the pay and living conditions were horrible, and the clincher, i did not want to pick up after the horses and elephants,,, the head of the circus said himself, if i did not shape up i could head down the road, it sounded like a better prospect than staying with the circus,, never missed the circus
