I have always known the composer of "Nature Boy" as Eden Abba. However, Wikipedia tells his story under the name Eden Ahbez - the tale of the song is fascinating. Apparently the melody has Yiddish music roots, via Antonin Dvorak.
It is a hauntingly beautiful song, with a thread of melancholy in the music. I first heard it when I was growing up and one boring Sunday afternoon I watched the forgotten film, "The Boy With Green hair" - the song was its theme music. This is a movie about war refugee children after World War II - I had known some, and once got into a playground fight with kids who had been torturing young German girls by the swings as "Nazis". Maybe I was 7 or 8, then.
Now, this is one my my fovorites at the pieno bar .... and the lesson of the lyrics has been with me, always.

We have a hard time excepting the Truth about ourselves and when someone else points these thing out to us, we become defensive even when we know them to be the truth. So therefore the importance of learning ones self is the greatest life achievements
