There is hope for anyone. It will help to sort of evolve the cynical view into a truthful view. Things are not perfect. You do not do everything perfectly. Maybe you have or had a picture of love that is different from what really is. Just try hanging out and having some good times and dealing with any problems. People do some whacked stuff. Gotta just deal with it. That does not mean give up.

I understand. I put up a huge wall from being hurt so badly. Then the right person came along & gradually, slowly I came around. I had a choise to make ....never feel love again or take that chance. It tore me apart for quite awile but I gave in.Its worth taking the chance cause I prefer to be loved. Just be careful. Dont jump at the first person to come along. Make wise choises. Good luck & follow your gut instincts.

I'm cynical too. Don't worry about it. U have to have some raw humor about dating now a days. I just hope you're not starting to think of your self as a future spinster. As a product of a harsh catholic upbringing, I know first hand the cynicism and humor are necessary tools to fight off nosy peers. Revel in the fact that u can antagonize those who attempt to pressure you into a different mind set. Enjoy watching them scratch their heads as u confidently shoot down their arguments about "how wonderful love is".

Yes there is hope for you. This is just a minor stage if you choose for yourself otherwise. Nothing lasts forever and things do get better, give it time.
