Getting a tattoo for sure hurts more. However, A tongue piercing is more sore during the healing process.

I have both. Really, the tongue piercing hurt more between the two. But the most pain I experienced was when I had my belly button pierced because of the clothing rubbing against it. Owie.

I have a high pain tolerance. I can't speak for the tongue piercing, but I do have a tattoo. It may be less painful depending on where the tattoo is applied. Mine is in between my shoulder blades, low enough that you don't see it unless I show it. It didn't hurt at all...it's colored in, so probably at most it just got annoying after awhile. It took about 45 min total, but I hated having to sit so still.

I've heard alot of people say the tattoo's more painful. My dad does tattoo's and I've seen alot of people wince and stuff(I guess they're not used to it). Plus my little sister doesn't like pain much and she has maybe one tattoo and like 6 peircings: 1 tongue, 2 eyebrows, bar in ear, 2 ear piercings and I think she's even done her nose before.
I only have a piercing in each ear, no tat's, but I've often thought or wondered about bellybutton piercings.....
Getting a tatoo with a lot of detail hurts more then a tounge pierce for the simply fact that it takes a lot longer and hurts more.
depends on the size of the tattoo we're talking about...
tongue. the actuall piercing part does not hurt, it hurts afterwards when it swells up and you have to get finger food for a few days.
but both of their pain your beable to handle, you wont think 'omg, im not gonna make it.' your make it
