What do you think it's more important...?!
Question: when it comes to a foreign person who speaks your language... if you can understand them, although their spelling is bad, or if they know how to spell words properly, but don't know how to use them in coherent statements?
and how patient are you with someone who at least made some efforts to learn your language?
I'm not a native English speaker...

I think that understanding transcends language for me even though someone might not use words in a statement very coherently...when misspelling comes up, that makes it a lot harder for me! I think anybody who makes a serious effort to learn my language should be applauded. I wouldn't expect to interact myself with people in another country if I didn't learn their language, and so...I would expect people to come to my country and learn the language here.
Geez that opens up a can of worms here in America...although we technically have no official language, most people here speak English and it is frustrating sometimes to have the Spanish language pushed upon us...hehe, don't get me started :)
I live in an area where everything is written in two languages. In time, I can't even tell the difference, they are simply normal to me. There are moments though, when I speak to people and they try to impose their language to me. That's really rude! Report It
