If you are referring to the top contributor badge
You need to remain active in the community
You may have lost your top contributor badge
but a person can get it back
by answering questions in a particular category
going up to 3
Most categories have them with the exception of
polls and surveys.
So if you had your from there this is why.
you have to maintain 200 poitns a week i think in best answers. i just got mine yesterday, and i am really afraid to lose it.lol. i guess yahoo feels you haven't "contributed as much as you have in the past". you need over 10 pecent in best answers, so go to your profile and see if you have that.
edit: but it would seem pretty hard to get Top contributor in polls and surveys. even the most popular people on here don't have those badges!

they don't have it in P&S...i think you need a 10 pecent best answer rate but in a different category
havent figured out how to get one yet not that I am not worthy of one trust me I have wayyyyyyy more points than most of those folks
isn't it a bit sad to spend so much time in front of your screen that you can amass enough points to be a top contributor.
I'm afraid my exciting life gets in my way of winning too many points
