I find the answer above disturbing...I can think of lots of things more important to practice than texting.
Do what I do doll....log on to the computer and send well written readable wordy text messages that way. It tips my kid over the edge...but just to keep him happy I fly a WTF now and then.

but its really simple all you have to do is start texting people youll be super slow at first and before u know it you wont have to look at the key bored to text haha.
