Why do they say " sleep like a top"?!

Never heard of that one - I've of heard sleep like a baby or a log though
I've heard "sleep like a log" but not a "top".
I usually say I slept like a log.
One I often find confusing is - Slept like a baby.
In my experience they wake up in the night. I was lucky that mine soon grew out of it though.
I've heard of spin like a top, never sleep like a top. You may be mistaken or "they" are one person who got it wrong. Be careful what you take on board as fact.
yes the spinning top theory is the one that came to my mind too,its the humming!
