The best one I ever had pulled was an April fool's day prank. My entire 8th grade class, their desks, and the lectern were missing when I arrived in the classroom. They were out the back door on the grass, in their assigned seats (at least in relation to the desks in rows), the lectern in front, and they were just waiting to see what I would do. We had class outside that day . . . ended with them returning the chairs to the inside of the room.
