All the girls thought it would be cool to wear new mascara that was royal blue or emerald green. I have green eyes and used the green mascara and thought I looked gorgeous. Now I see myself in pictures and realize it looked like I had moss growing on my eyelashes!! Totally fungal!!
That's just part of growing up, whether it's make-up or something more serious. When we're younger (and even for some when they are older!) we just want to fit in and belong. So we do whatever the group decides is "cool", even if it is silly or stupid.
You will know that your are truly an adult when you can step back and decide for yourself if something is right for you or not...when you can choose not to do something and not be bothered if others laugh at you for not going along with them.
