How can you "thumbs down" someones opinion?!
Question: I am just wondering how it is possibly to give a thumbs down to someones opinion on a matter that does not need any statistical or factual backup. I understand if the question "When was Thomas Jefferson Born?" was asked and you said 1234AD, yeah, thumbs down! But on a question like What's your favorite movie/color/song/food, where do people get off telling you your answers poor?

I know,I answered a question that asked "What's the weather like there?"
And I got a thumbs down for saying it was 20 degrees.
When they have answered a question just click on the thumb picture that is pointing downwards.
I often wonder that myself..

I never thumbs down those but sum ppl do because they just dont agree which is just mean
some people are just selfish about their views in life
totally right, unless the answer was offensive!= does not relate to the topic and offensive to the asker
I don't usually thumbs down peoples opinions unless mine has been. Make it fair...
You have a good point...like when I say something about I like Marilyn Manson, people give me thumbs down...that is my opinion. If you don't like him then you can take your thumb and shove it!!
well if "this person" is really putting you down, its definitely acceptable
its people like them that ruin yahoo answers

if thats not there favortie "food,song,color or movie" sometime people will thumbs it down i guess

oh...its cus people don't like other peoples o[pinions so they thumbs them down. i only do it during the avatar game.
I got a thumbs down for using one word to describe myself b/c the person posted "Describe urself using one word?". I can't stand immature ppl.
Sorry but there seems to be a lot of people here that like to thumbs down anyone who doesn't agree with them or who has different tastes then they do!
