Do you think prisons reform people?!

Question: --My opinion--
I think it depends on the person. I know people who have spent years in jail but come out to do the SAME stuff they did and get right back in it.

I agree with you. I was District Court Clerk for 10 years and witnessed that many times. Sometimes people really reform and learn their lesson, but other times they go back to doing what they know how to do best. From what they told me, its so hard to try to get a job at McDonalds making minimum wage and so easy to sell drugs, or steal cars etc. That is one of the biggest problems not giving someone out of prison a break because he has a record, and then when they do, not enough money to take care of himself much less a family. We need to get our economy up, pay people more money, so they can LIVE.

No it doesn't.

I don't think so

i agree with you.. it depends on the person and really the attitude that that person goes in with

I think prisons make people worse!

only a small percentage

There is no reformation. It makes people worse.

No. If anything, it just tears people apart. A cage can break a soul in two, and then a robber can come out as a serial killer.

Your right it depends on the person but usually they learn their lesson and try not to make the same mistakes that they did to go back in there!

Some will learn their lesson and reform.
But some will become even more criminal minded.

They are not designed to reform people at all. Most people come out with the same anti-social behaviors they went in with if not worse. That said some people mature and take responsibility for a more constructive life.

i agree with you. it depends on whether the person wants to change or not. some people cant be changed. or get so used to prison life that they dont know how to act on the outside. so they do what they can to get back into prison.

You know, there's a reason they're often referred to as CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES.

No they don't.

Nope. Most small time criminals go in and come out trained criminals.
