An anthem, and a benchmark. Not much can hold a candle to the music from this era.
So much of today's music is a sham. I like a whole lot of different kinds of music, but there is a lot coming out of the industry today that gets attention that is unwarranted...it is not that good. The most recent record of the year award to one Miss A.W. only goes to show the industry is not into good music anymore.
No. I do not think that any one song can ever become an anthem for an entire generation. Perhaps an anthem for one cultural group during any given generation, but not the entire generation.
Oh my! I haven't thought of this song forever. I believe the song was an hour and a half long - LOL. I loved the song back then. Really 'got into it' with my beads and flowers in my hair. I'd say, it was one of the anthems indeed.
