Why is there an eject button on the VCR remote?!

no -it ejects the batteries out of the remote.
That's true, but wouldn't you want to have the tape already out of the VCR when you got to it; rather than going up to the device and then pushing eject and then getting the tape out?

It's so you don't you can turn it off from the remote watch tv,fall asleep.ect.. and take it out later.
