I cannot swim but when I went to Hawaii - I just had to snorkle. It was ok in the shallow but in the deep I didn't like it. The guide stayed right beside me but I was still scared. Anyhoo - while the guide was under and I was kinda floating on the boogie board that we took out - this big assssssss sea turtle came up right beside me. I'm here to tell you Platy - that scared the bejesus out of me. His head was as big as a volkswagen. I've never gotten back in the ocean. ?

yeah i was on my inner tube and it flew right over me! i got my shark saddle out of the truck and took her for a ride.

i saw a black dolphin once there big waves but everbody thought it was a shark and were running out of the water lol my mom was one of them i just took out the camera and took pics lol
Yes, I'm a diver. I wasn't scared because I have only been around small reef sharks that aren't aggressive. I like them!

Yeah, when snorkeling at Molokini. I looked down, about 20 ft below me was a white-tip reef shark. I've heard reef sharks ain't really that dangerous. But it still was pretty trippy to see one for real, and not just on TV. Was probably five or six feet long, decent size.
Thought I glimpsed one in the waves off of St. Petersburg, Florida, some years ago. About 7 feet long, brown, and glistening for just a moment. Sure wasn't a dolphin or a manatee. I didn't venture into the water after that.
Yes and I wasn't in the water for much longer after that, like maybe ten seconds! I was swimming in the Atlantic Ocean, and I was beyond scared, I'm more afraid of sharks than anything.

No I've never seen a shark, but I lived in Tampa FL and saw plenty of Alligators. I don't know what would scare me more, shark or alligator! I think shark would.

Totally. My pal and I were snorkeling off Turkoise and a pair of sharks appeared in my peripheral vision. They were about 8 feet away and headed straight for us. I swallowed about 3 gallons of water and said my prayers.
when I got back to the boat they showed us a chart of shark pictures. I was pretty sure they were great whites, but the boat crew thought they were something called nurse sharks. That's like naming a black mombo a puppy snake - the name may be benign, but it is still one of the most poisonous snakes in the world. To add to that, these two had napkins around their necks, silverware in one fin and salt and pepper in the other.
